This is a photo of me at one of the Head Start classrooms with Mr. N. I actually think the letter people are creepy but also know these guys get kids started on spelling and reading. For the past three years I have fixed computers at Head Start classrooms one day a week. Even though my main motivation for doing this job was to earn regular cash to subsidize my irregular art income I always would look forward to helping these folks with their computers every week. I got to meet lots of super cool people and learn first hand what a wonderful program this is. I love 3-5 year old kids so much because they are amazingly inquisitive and have this kind and pure presence that seems to go away after being hazed for a few years at school. As I train my replacement I find myself saddened by the fact that I will probally never see a Head Start classroom again. I have many bad memories of school and I always felt uncomfortable going onto grade school campuses. It sure is nice to have some happy memories to add to my collection.
